Week 3 /Attribute 3 – Beauty/Harmony/Compassion (Tiferet)

We have completed 2 weeks counting to Shavuot

Sitting At The Feet Of Our Master YESHUA

Holiness Is Beautiful

Matthew 5:29-30 If your right eye makes you sin, gouge it out and throw it away! Better that you should lose one part of you than have your whole body thrown into Gei-Hinnom. Mat 5:30 And if your right hand makes you sin, cut it off and throw it away! Better that you should lose one part of you than have your whole body thrown into Gei-Hinnom. (CJB)

Pluck my eye out? Cut my hand off? What did YESHUA mean in Mattityahu/Matthew 5:29-30? If we were to take this literally, I would guess that 95% of all believers (including ourself) would be blind and without hands, not a very pretty picture. What was YESHUA trying to get across to his talmidim ?

This verse seems absolutely absurd when taken out of its Jewish context, it is a clear example of one of the most common Jewish teaching methods of YESHUA, a method known as “Kal-Ve-Chomer” light and heavy. This method was used by YESHUA repeatedly to contrast the two stages of sin, the first state being the lighter and the second stage the heavier.

The purpose behind this method was to teach the principle that if we nip a sin in the bud while it is still in the light stage, or as YESHUA says “Pluck it out” or “cut it off” it can be prevented from ever reaching the far more destructive heavy stage.”

Here YESHUA is telling us how to live holy lives, if we keep our eyes from evil, then the thoughts will not become actions that will cause us to backslide and sin.

Daily we need to make decisions about what we will watch, read and partake of in order to protect ourselves from walking into a sinful situation. To live a sanctified life, is to daily make the right choices to follow and live out His WORD and to keep ourselves from evil.

We need to daily renew our minds with the WORD of YEHOVAH, His Torah and daily confess any sins that have hindered our walk with YAH. We need to tell our body what to do, not let our body tell us what to do, if we walk in the power of the RUACH HAKODESH we will not fulfill the lust of the flesh.

Galatians 5:16-26.

To walk in holiness is a daily refining process, as we make holy sanctified choices, we go from glory to glory.

I am not just talking about choices in the natural, I am also talking about choices in the spirit also of walking by faith vs fear, walking in trust vs worry, speaking good words in agreement with the Torah/Word or speaking evil words In agreement with satan.

Father YEHOVAH, help me to make every action of my day, pleasing to you, in everything I do, in my thoughts and in the words of my mouth, and in the meditations of my heart.

I will offer up the sacrifice of praise, even when my feelings tell me, I do not feel much like praising, let my life and actions come before your throne as a sweet smelling living sacrifice for Your glory.

1Chronicles 16:29 Ascribe unto YEHOVAH the glory due unto His name; bring an offering, and come before Him; worship YEHOVAH in the beauty of holiness. 1Ch 16:30 Tremble before Him, all the earth; the world also is established that it cannot be moved. 1Ch 16:31 Let the heavens be glad, and let the earth rejoice; and let them say among the nations: ‘YEHOVAH reigneth.’1Ch 16:32 Let the sea roar, and the fulness thereof; let the field exult, and all that is therein; 1Ch 16:33 Then shall the trees of the wood sing for joy, before YEHOVAH, for He is come to judge the earth. 1Ch 16:34 O give thanks unto YEHOVAH; for He is good; for His mercy endureth for ever. 1Ch 16:35 And say ye: ‘Save us, O YEHOVAHof our salvation, and gather us together and deliver us from the nations, that we may give thanks unto Thy holy name, that we may triumph in Thy praise.’ 1Ch 16:36 Blessed be YAHUVEH, the GOD of Israel, from everlasting even to everlasting. And all the people said: ‘Amen,’ and praised YAHUVEH.
